Shan is senior Accountant and a public practising member of Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), member of Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) and former member of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia.
Shan holds an Australian Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) licence as a Registered Tax Agent and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) licence as a Registered ASIC Agent.
Since 1990, Shan has been working in the accounting and finance sector and possesses a wide range of expertise in income tax for individuals and businesses, GST, PAYG, Fuel Tax Credit, Luxury Car Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Capital Gain Tax, Payroll Tax and BAS preparation.
Shan is a Senior Lecturer at TAFE South Australia and has extensive experience in teaching accounting, taxation, business management, growing and developing business, business restructure and digital marketing.
Shan has developed the taxation courses for TAFE South Australia to deliver courses that meet the registration educational requirements for Tax Agents and BAS Agents. These courses are approved by the Australian Tax Practitioner’s Board for delivery Australia wide and over 2000 students have completed the training to meet Australian Tax Practitioner’s Board’s licence registration requirements.
In 2015 and 2017 Shan was a Finalist in the South Australia Government Training Awards for Trainer of the Year and in 2016 received the TAFE SA award for Excellence in Business Growth and in 2015 received the Award for Excellence in Innovation
Prior to his academic career at TAFESA Shan was a Director Budget, Department of Treasury and Finance and he has taught in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Adelaide.
He has extensive experience in providing accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and business advice to a wide range of business clients.
Shan has extensive research experience in cost reductions strategies, budgeting, job costing, process costing, and activity-based costing, standard costing and internal control system.
