Course Outcome
Successful completion of this course will enable you to:
- Establish and process employee payrolls using MYOB
- Prepare and report payroll obligations including, superannuation, PAYG withholding, Payroll tax and Workcover liabilities using MYOB
- Perform end of year payroll reconciliations using MYOB
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) using MYOB
Entry Requirements
The course is only available for current or prospective Premier Tax & Bookkeeping (PTB) independent contractors for the preparation of income tax returns and BAS.
To enrol in this course, you will need to provide evidence that you have completed MYOB Bookkeeping Essential course or equivalent
To undertake the course, good computer skills, access to a computer with a reliable internet connection, and sufficient level of literacy and numeracy are required.
Other Details
For this a part time blended mode course where attendance at a 2-hour per week video conferencing lecture for a period of four weeks is required. An additional 4 hours per week of study outside of your video conferencing lecture is required for skill development and completion of practical exercises using XPM.
The workshops are delivered by highly experienced Bookkeepers and Registered BAS Agents, who have over 20 years of experience in the bookkeeping industry. The lecturers’ profile can be accessed by clicking on Lyn Square and Jodie Cowling
This course is designed to develop independent learning and requires use the available reading materials, XPM help sections and relevant ATO websites before attempting the learning and skill development exercises.
Once exercises have been completed you are able check the correct answers provided in your online course portal or if you have difficulty understanding answers contact the tutors for support.

MYOB AccountRight software is provided until 30 June 2021 and included in the course fee above.
Electronic reading materials are included in the course fee and course content is accessed via our online student portal. Additional resources, learning materials and classroom recordings are also available at no cost.
In this course you will be provided with real life business transactions and scenarios and asked to complete electronically and submit the following using MYOB Accounts Right.
- Processing the employee’s payroll
- Prepare payroll activity report
- Generate payslips
- Reviewing and correct detailed GST audit report
- Prepare summary and Detailed GST report for accrual and cash basis accounting methods
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS)
On satisfactory completion of the workshops, you will be provided with a Workshop Completion Certificate. This Certificate outlines all components covered in the workshops.
This is an industry based practical skills course with no links to nationally accredited units and/or qualifications
